Merida –
We get quite late and just miss breakfast. Damn. Lucky for us, the next-door “Café Havana” is already open, so we once again get in to have some brunch. A bit undecided about where to go for the next few hours (we have to catch the bus to Tulum or Akumal soon) we just have a walk and visit the nearby parks… “Parque Hidalgo”, “Rectoria El Jesus Tercera Orden”, “Parque San Juan”…
Back in the hotel we make the decision to return straight to Tulum instead of going to Akumal. We walk to the ADO busstation and get us the tickets for the ride to Tulum. For a brief moment we thought about dropping by Chichen Itza and maybe also visit the cenote Il Kil, but our priority for the next days is having some relaxing days at the end of the trip. We rather find us a nice scuba diving base for a dive tomorrow than visit another tourist attraction. On our ride to Tulum we book our next stay in the hotel “Tres Palmas”.
Tulum –
We arrive quite late in the evening and it’s raining once again… C’mon Tulum! You deserve better weather ! Quite soaked, we arrive at the hotel. First things first: Having a warm shower, getting something to eat and look for a divecenter.
Somehow the weather doesn’t seem to get better tomorrow. Will it be possible to scuba at all in the sea near Akumal or should we maybe visit the cenotes instead? At the divebase “Scuba Tulum” we talk with Carlos, and he persuades us to have some dives at the cenotes. “You WILL regret it if you leave without having a dive at the cenotes!”. The cenotes we are going to dive in tomorrow are “Dos Ojos ” and ” Casa Cenote”. Showing us some awesome photos taken in the cenotes we are quite sure that these are going to be some exiting dives.
